A Heart-warming Spring Festival Virtual Visit for the Elders

Buddha’s Light Caring Group visited the Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care

 

On February 23, 15 volunteers of the Buddha's Light Caring Group, led by the Advising Ven. Miao Tsun, conducted a virtual visit; presenting a heart-warming Spring Festival program for 57 elders in the Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care at Scarborough.

 

Ven. Miao Tsun greeted the elders and employees of the Centre with blessing. Members of the caring group also greeted the elders with "Cultivate the heart that blooms in all seasons" – a New Year’s greeting from Master Venerable Hsing Yun.

 

The elders were enchanted as they watched the video of the dragon-lion dance and Kung Fu performance prepared by the caring group. The program including the story of "The Four Seniors" to illustrate the importance of compassion, as well as a series of beautiful New Year songs.

 

In the end, the Venerable led the volunteers to offer lights and chanted the name of "Medicine Buddha" for blessings, and returned the merits to the elders.

 

With the help of technology, the volunteers of the support team exerted the spirit of the"Three Act of Goodness" and "Four Givings" to bring a special Spring Festival and wonderful time to the elderly in the Yee Hong Centre.
